Tamil Recipes Kozhi Milagu Fry is a hot and spicy item; a great side dish for nan, chappatis, noodles, white rice, biryani, fried rice, lime rice, tomato rice, white rice with sambar, rasam and yogurt.

This is a common dish in the eating places of Madurai. Most road side shops will serve you if you request a chicken pepper fry. Those are shops the best to eat from and tasty.they are usually owned by a family team with no overheads so it is inexpensive and closest to home cooking.

Ingredients

  • Chicken 1 lb
  • Ground Black Pepper 2 tsp
  • Chilli Powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger/Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Onions 2
  • Oil 2 cups
  • Salt 1 tbsp


Method

  1. Cut the chicken into small pieces and marinate it with chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and salt and leave it for one hour
  2. Boil the chicken pieces in very little water till half cooked
  3. Pour oil in a frying pan
  4. Add onions and fry till light brown
  5. Add the boiled chicken and fry in low heat mixing it often
  6. Add the ground pepper and fry well
  7. Remove when it is sticking to the pan. Serve it hot with any food or just as a snack
