Elimichai Oorugai/Lemon Pickle Recipe


  • Lemon 3
  • Red Chili powder 4 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Salt 4 tsp
  • Sesame oil 1/4 cup
  • Asafetida 1 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • urid dal 1 tsp


  1. For Elimichai Oorugai or Lemon Pickle recipe cut 2 lemons into 1/2 inch pieces
  2. Take a glass jar and drop them in there
  3. Now add the turmeric, asafetida, chili and salt
  4. Squeeze the remaining lemon juice into the jar
  5. Take a frying pan. Pour oil and heat it
  6. Add mustard and urid dal and fry till mustard pops
  7. Now pour the contents of the jar into the frying pan and mix them well
  8. Pou them back into the jar and serve it for sides for meals
  9. Keep it air tight and you can use it for a week
